I read a lot of internet products and there is rarely one that I would recommend to people at all skill levels. This is an exception.

Adsense Secrets begins by covering the basics of setting up a domain. It covers a vast array of information relevant to an internet marketer. Not all of the information can be covered in detail, but it is presented in such a way that the reader will then leave the book with the motivation to learn more about SEO, traffic generation and acquiring good content. I’ve been blogging for a year but can see how this could be of immense use to someone just starting out.

I would argue it’s a must read for anyone starting out with blogging or internet marketing. Many of the basic concepts the author, Joel Comm, talks about is similar to the material I’m covering in Blog Mastermind. While I love Blog Mastermind, I would be more inclined to recommend this e-book to a person just starting out.

At no point does Comm allude to Adsense as being a get rich quick scheme, nor does he advocate using illegal tactics to gain undeserved income. He explains early on that optimizing your adsense unit is just one element of your success. He also warns against using many of the sites that other internet ‘gurus’ often advocate. Learning this information early on in your career can save you from costly mistakes later one.

The 200 pages of information are rich with details and screenshots of ways to ensure success. Unlike other authors, he doesn’t hold some of the information back to try and get you to buy more. Personally, I learnt:

  • Hhow to use table to get Adsense inline with your text
  • What Channels are and how to properly set them up to ensure you get the correct stats
  • How to set up your own alternate ads rather than a PSA message

There are the occasional affiliate links but these are limited.

You can find this information elsewhere online, but it is a struggle to find everything you need in one affordable package. It would take considerable time to research all this information on your own and collate your findings into a resource you can understand.

Your time is best spent creating the creating the great content that will drive the visitors to your site in the first place. It is worth considerably more than $10 considering the amount of time it will save you researching.

There was one final factor that influenced my purchase decision.

How much money was I potentially losing by not purchasing this product. I bit the bullet and am implementing the tips currently.
